Fears: Never being able to bout Idols: My mom Why Roller Derby: Because its electric, addictive and the feeling you get when your involved and out on a track as part of a team is so exhilarating.

Loves: Muscular, tattooed, body armored women in fishnets and quad skates; Being respected and/or resented by muscular, tattooed, body armored women in fishnets and quad skates for an hour who afterward buy me beer. Yeah, I know its weird . . . Dislikes: Coaches who yell at their own players, coaches that yell at referees, coaches that yell all the time, coaches who think they know the rules better than referees, mean coaches . . . angry, angry coaches. Joined GMDD: November 2007 Favorite Derby Moment: Taken down by Star Slayer. I didn't see her come sliding into the backs of my legs (an early lesson in never taking my eyes off the pack). I do remember seeing the scoreboard framed between both my feet as I sailed upward, and then landing flat on something muscular, fish-netted and laughing. One of those great skater/referee bonding moments. Of course, she was uninjured. Second jam of our first season's first bout. The crowd seemed to enjoy it, and so far, Slayer is the only skater to ever knock me off my feet. Fears: Rusty bearings, loose toe stops, water on the track, not enough officials for a bout. Idols: Null ptr ref, Sugar Daddy. (WFTDA referees) Why Roller Derby: It's the only team sport I ever really enjoyed watching, or being a part of. And . . . um; Muscular, tattooed, body armored women in fishnets and quad skates. Its a study in stoic professionalism amidst a backdrop of adolescent fantasy.

Dislikes: Ignorance Joined GMDD: January 2010 Favorite Derby Moment: When we win, but all moments, and the cheering crowds. Fears: Doing nothing, being motionless. Idols: None to speak of Why Roller Derby: I love to roller skate, and it is wonderful to see such improvements in the dames, and a challenge to me to learn all the rules; it keeps my body and mind active. It is Great Fun.
 Darkness VisibleNumber: 62 Position(s): Referee Injuries: Major right elbow sprain on my 6th-ever practice. No trips to the ER since then. Loves: Taking whips, hitting, crossing over, reffing. Also, brownies, steak and Bruce Springstein. Dislikes: Poorly fitting skates, gravel on the track. Joined GMDD: July 2009 Favorite Derby Moment: Jamming for the first time and loved it, close second was reffing at Beast of the East. Fears: That I’ll make a bad call when reffing. Or that I’ll not be able to block that oncoming jammer. Guess I’d better get used to facing these particular fears. Idols: Slayer for her speed and balance, Muffin for her drive and convincing me to join the team, Annie for her hits and Burley Quinn for her resilence. Why Roller Derby: Because it feels incredible. It terrifies me almost daily-facing fear makes you strong. I have never met so many amazing women from all walks of life whom I’d never have encountered otherwise who I instantly wanted to be good friends with.
 Ref PayBackNumber: 403 Position(s): All that is Ref. Injuries: Plenty, none from Derby. ACL reconstruction, Dislocating Shoulder, etc… Loves: Skating fast and hard. Ladies that can skate better than me. Making new Derby Friends. Learning new skate tricks. Dislikes: Disrespect for the Derby Law. Other laws can be broken, not Derby. Joined GMDD: June 2008 Favorite Derby Moment: Getting a real feel for being a Jammer Ref in the heat of the Bout. A close second is getting asked for my Autograph…no one comes to a bout for the Refs! Fears: Tie Game, 30 seconds left, and sending my Jammer to the box and the whole crowd boo’ing. Oh wait that happened! Idols: My parents because they took me to the Roller Rink when I was little. Why Roller Derby: Where else can you hang out with a bunch of strong ladies who like to skate, kick ass, and form something no one has ever seen before.
